“One and Two.”

Fell in love, but never together.
Promises broken by threads of “forever.”
Feelings for affection and attention ensue.
As he spoke in a cold voice.
“I’ll enjoy you for the time being too.”

Please just pretend.
That these feelings inside me
Will never, ever end.
Make me believe,
That you’ll always stay.
Tugging on your sleeve
Please don’t go away.
Falling apart, we’re torn at the seams
My heart became stained
While yours remained clean.
I took the blame
As we ran our separate ways.
Running to leave, it started to rain
Raindrops of salt, that washed away the stains.

“Broken Beauty.”

She cried when she spoke of the men who love her.
Tears born of an empty love.
And a heart that pained inside a hollow casket.

Will you be home tonight?
Drifting off by my side?
Or will you be in another’s bed?
Silently slipping through the night instead?
Your hands felt so warm atop my chest.
Your eyes like gems, barely open, as you rest.
Marble skin, and a smile that held so much pain.
As you begged me to keep you sane.
An empty night, no shining stars, just full moon’s light
Will you be home tonight?
Drifting off before my eyes?
Or will you be alone?
Under an empty moon’s light?

“Contrast.”

Without one, the other can not exist.
The concept of love derives from this.
One must rely on the other.
When a perfect balance between two contrasting objects has been achieved,
Only then, can true beauty be revealed.

Sun and Moon, a love with strife.
The Sun, she shines
Breeding love and life.
And as she tires, settling on the other side.
The Moon arrives
To watch over the Sun at night.

“Home.”

Hair once straight, now sits so frayed.
Tireless nights, working till the grave.
Hands once soft, now turned to bone.
And still, within your arms is my only home.

Fairy lights and whiskey sours
A life best lived after hours.
Nicotine on cold night air
As you run your fingers through my hair.
Empty roads and starry nights
A dream so far, yet still in sight.
But rooted to the ground, I still remain.
At least, I was until she came.
But now, alone, I’m on my own, away from home.
Exciting, but still frightening, I think I’ll find my way
I’m sorry Mom.
Your son remains, in yesterday.

“Strawberries and Nicotine.”

A place I’ve never known.
A touch I’ve never felt.
And words I’ve never said.

She dances on my fingertips.
With gems for eyes, and candied lips.
Her scent that teases, a smell I’ve never known.
It beckons me forth, as if I’ll never own.
The sun dies down, as shadows dance.
She leaves my body in a trance.
With parting lips that never left.
A fleeting touch, still on my chest.
Words that scream, but that I’ll never say.
Locked inside my head until this day.
I shout, I beg, I swear I’ll wipe the pain away.
Just please, don’t leave.
Please, don’t go away.

“Devil’s Memories”

She hypnotizes demon’s with devil lips.
And the sway of hourglass hips.

The beat moves to the motion of her hips.
She’s got a silk voice and persuasive lips.
Thin frame, but far from tender.
A queen of hearts, atop a throne of cinders.
A smoke, a shot, a drink for him.
Dissolving in a flurry of rum and gin.
A demon prince, at night among his kin.
He sits atop a throne of lust and sin.
An encounter of prince and queen
A district alight with red lights and velvet seams.
A dance between the two, of legs and lips.
No pause between the lust of swaying hips.
She sings a song of moans and lust.
And he relieves the pain of broken trust.
Two hearts so cold, and minds so numb.
But the beat goes on, with the rhythm of a drum.
A queen of hearts, atop a demon prince
The sway of lust, atop a bed of lonely sins.

“Utterly Useless.”

I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing here anymore.
I’m not really sure about anything.
I just want to wake up to something different.
Something new.

A hundred words, but nothing new.
The same old song, with me and you.
I’m good, how are you?
How are things, anything new?
Glad to hear, well, I’ll see you then.
I’m sorry I can’t speak without paper and pen.
Sorry that I can never say enough.
Time and time again.
Pin me up, and string me along.
Make me dance, to your lovely song.
Run and run, I run and keep on running.
Just to make up for my love of nothing.

“Ambition.”

There’s… something I need to do.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be back.
But I have something I need to chase.
Something very precio-

It’s alright.
We’ll be miles away, and still I’ll think of you.
Promise me, that next time I hear of you
It’ll be of what you’ve become.
And not what you were.

I’ve been laying here a little too long.
Watch the clouds pass me by.
Enjoying nature’s song.
The dirt pushes me forward
As the grass moves me along.
The breeze brings me toward
A place where I belong.
A dream I kept, inside a vessel now scorned.
With hands that knew only paper and pen
And could only speak with words.
And still, they speak my name
With whispers, it travels around
Gaining untold fame.
A thousand hands that pushed me along.
A single push, enchanted by a siren’s song.
A dream I shared, within the dawn.
In a place, where only I belong.

“You Look Lovely.”

Love the way your hair blows
Love the way your face glows
Got a lot of love, and it shows.

Roses are red, and violets are blue.
I wrote this at 4 A.M., thinking of you.
Flowers mean love, and sweets just the same.
But all I need, is you calling my name.
Dinner at night, wake up and smile.
Stay for a bit, stay for a while.
Starry night skies, and late night drives
Wishing it was you in my crowded mind tonight.
Kisses for two, remnants of you
Walked out the door, that’s it, we’re through.

“Just Write.”

I can’t speak.
I can’t yell.
I can’t even say what I want.
All I can do is write this stupid shit.

Deep thoughts, dark thoughts
One and the same.
Open up my mind, come take a peek
Call me insane.
Just talk, just speak, please voice your mind.
How am I supposed to?
Do you know where demons like to hide?
Down another, smoke another, till I’m feeling numb.
Skin to skin, and velvet lips
A devil’s kiss, now I’ll succumb.
But when the sun comes out, another day, another test.
Given to a special someone
Who never knows what’s best.
