“Locked.”

I wonder if you resent me.

Our positions reversed.
Tables have turned, our love is the worst.
Numb to the life we live alone.
Addicted to our deprived little home.
Stars and their shades engulf my sky.
The signal that begins a night of you and I.
Dressed in our formal midnight attire.
An outfit of lust, of carnal desire.
Our dance of shadows and skin.
Our song of temptation and sin.
The peaking lights of the morning sun.
A sleepless night ended, tomorrow has come.
Stuck within sheets, our finale delayed.
Breathless bodies, begging to stay.
To eternally rest, where we decided to lay.

“Waste of Time.”

A million words reached out and grabbed a thousand hearts.
Strangled and mangled, they put themselves back together.

Reaching out to heal others, forever and ever.

She picked up the scraps, and kept them inside.
Locked in a drawer, sworn always to hide.
Joked as she spoke, of a hobby with ink.
Laughed as she said, “It means nothing to me.”
Wasting her time, on words left unspoken.
A pen left unused, a world oh so broken.
But a world she created, and left locked inside.
A beauty unknown, as they scream and they cry.
“Release us, release us, please let the world see”
“Reflections of you, yes that’s what we are, just let us out, please.”
“The world on this paper, is more than just hobbies of ink”

“One and Two.”

Fell in love, but never together.
Promises broken by threads of “forever.”
Feelings for affection and attention ensue.
As he spoke in a cold voice.
“I’ll enjoy you for the time being too.”

Please just pretend.
That these feelings inside me
Will never, ever end.
Make me believe,
That you’ll always stay.
Tugging on your sleeve
Please don’t go away.
Falling apart, we’re torn at the seams
My heart became stained
While yours remained clean.
I took the blame
As we ran our separate ways.
Running to leave, it started to rain
Raindrops of salt, that washed away the stains.

“Broken Beauty.”

She cried when she spoke of the men who love her.
Tears born of an empty love.
And a heart that pained inside a hollow casket.

Will you be home tonight?
Drifting off by my side?
Or will you be in another’s bed?
Silently slipping through the night instead?
Your hands felt so warm atop my chest.
Your eyes like gems, barely open, as you rest.
Marble skin, and a smile that held so much pain.
As you begged me to keep you sane.
An empty night, no shining stars, just full moon’s light
Will you be home tonight?
Drifting off before my eyes?
Or will you be alone?
Under an empty moon’s light?
